Answer: It always gives you something to do tomorrow.
We all have them. Some are big. Some are small. Some are short-term Some are long-term.
Often we feel that we are just coasting along with life, never really accomplishing what we want. We procrastinate, and don’t reach our full potential. The most amazing part is that while many will tell you what they don’t want in their life, they rarely can properly articulate what they DO want. If you keep focusing on what you don’t want, you actually will end up heading in that direction and attracting the negative energy.
As a driving instructor taught me about winter driving: “If you’re in a skid, stop looking where you don’t want to go (i.e. the rapidly approaching snow bank). Instead keep looking to where you WANT to go, and steer in that direction.”
So the first thing to do when you want to achieve something is figure out what you really want. Make sure that your goals are realistic. If you try to set a goal that you know deep down is hopelessly not achievable, you will set yourself up for failure and disappointment. This could cause you undue stress and anxiety.
Try instead to aim for smaller and realistic goals such as:
-deciding to eat healthy snacks instead of junk.
-finding the time take a brisk 20 minute walk every 2 days.
-starting the search for a new job that will bring you more satisfaction.
-committing to spending more time each week with your family.
If you would like to make some changes to help you get what you want and achieve your goals, it is important to prepare and as well make plans for what you want. The idea is that you want to start small, get the ball rolling, and just move forward to achieve the goal that you want.

Congratulations on taking a step that many never will, because they often aren’t ready to make choices to create change in their lives. I get such a great feeling seeing the changes in my clients, as they progress through their individual programs. For instance to witness the physical transformation of a weight loss client as they drop the pounds and tone-up, is amazing. Or observing people who come to have me help relieve their stress with hypnosis; I love seeing their newfound relaxed demeanor and energy as they go through their program.
Sometimes it is common for clients not to notice or feel their changes right away. However; other people in their lives (family, friends and co-workers) see the changes in them, but they may take a little while to see it themselves. It does happen eventually. I have a friend who is a recovering alcoholic. He has been sober for 10 years and I couldn’t be more proud of him! During a recent conversation, he shared that the number of alcoholics that actually go and get help for their problem is incredibly low. According to an article on rehabs.com, there are up to 22 million people in need of treatment for drug and alcohol use. Fewer than 1% of them get any help for their substance abuse (http://luxury.rehabs.com/alcohol-rehab/statistics/).
I must admit, I found those numbers to be very sad. My friend felt that many who need help, just don’t go and obtain the assistance they require. We both agreed that one has to be ready. And when they are, they would seek support, but not before.
This got me thinking about my clients who come to me for hypnosis to seek improvement on various issues in their lives. I could see that my hypnosis practice was very similar to the situation my friend spoke about. There are many who suffer and want to lose weight, stop smoking, ease stress, build confidence, sleep better, get over fears, etc. However not all people will actually take the steps towards working on their issues and finding relief.
It can be very humbling to admit that you have an issue that you want to work on, and that realization is in fact a huge first step. However as I discussed in my last article, the follow-through and finding the resources to get help is so important.

While the holiday season is in full swing, the two issues that mostly plague our clients during this time of year is usually related to their stress and their food intake.
