Before and After: Denise Coburn
Hello, my name is Denise Coburn. In just over 1 year, I lost 76 pounds, and 8 inches off of my hips with hypnosis…and that was nearly 2 years ago! My total weight loss so far has been 100 pounds. If you’re overweight and struggling, I completely understand what you are going through, and how frustrating it can be. I would like to share with you how hypnosis helped me to lose the weight, and feel better about myself. If it worked for me, then it can work for you too!
I have been overweight for almost 20 years, and when I tried different diet programs out there, I couldn’t keep the weight off. I was self-conscious about my weight and embarrassed too, and I never felt good. Even though I didn’t want to be overweight, I still was.
Clothes didn’t fit the way I wanted them to, and I often wore baggy things to hide my weight. My knees were always sore, and I often had trouble moving around. Even if I had some moderate success in losing a bit of weight, it didn’t last for long, and I quickly put it back on. I was tired of the yo-yo dieting, and didn’t want to feel this way any longer.
THE FIRST STEP
I just knew there had to be a better way, and it was time to find it. By doing an online search, I discovered many stories of how effective hypnosis could be to help people overcome a wide range habits, fears and also to make amazing changes in their lives, including losing weight. Based on their positive reviews, I called Greater Toronto Hypnosis Centre and booked their free consultation screening. I was skeptical, but also open-minded to hear what the possibilities were. It was nice to find out that I wasn’t the only one with similar weight struggles and issues, and I signed up right away for a weight loss program.
The worldwide Covid pandemic was presenting challenges to almost every business, and I was concerned that doing a weight loss program in-person would be very challenging because of the various shutdowns. So, I chose to do all the sessions online over video calls on Zoom. The results were still astounding, and there were no problems with video at all. I lost all that weight and changed my life…all from the comfort of my own home!
Using hypnosis to lose weight was different than anything I’ve ever experienced. No counting points, no special foods or pills, and no crazy diets or food restrictions. I found that from the first session, I was already changing how I thought about food. My cravings started to disappear almost immediately, and the best part is that I didn’t feel like I was depriving myself of the foods that I usually wanted. I learned how to relax, let go, and love myself.
The changes have been incredible! My clothing size has so far dropped from a 26 to 18. I now only eat when I’m hungry, and I don’t feel deprived. I also exercise daily. I no longer emotionally eat or snack when I’m stressed or bored. Yes, sometimes I do indulge in a treat, but now it’s not a daily occurrence…it’s more like once-every-so-often. I have more energy, my knees don’t hurt as much as they used to, and I just feel so much better and self-confident. The best part is that I haven’t gained any weight since I finished my weight loss program almost 2 years ago!
I’m not on a diet; I’m on a good meal plan and life plan. I feel like a completely enhanced person, and have new-found confidence. I’m now lighter, more positive, more relaxed, and healthier. I fit into the clothes I want, and I feel better about myself from the inside out. The best part is that these changes and new habits are going to be with me for the rest of my life, because the program taught me how to continue to use the tools even after my sessions were over.
